Traci Blido has been named Director of the Central Virginia Workforce Development Board.
On July 1st, a well-known name in the Central Virginia business community, Traci Blido began as Workforce Development Director. Blido was chosen, after a nationwide search resulting in more than 50 qualified applicants, and brings an extensive background in economic expansion and talent recruitment. For 10 years, she served as Bedford County Economic Development Director where she led efforts to attract to County more than $100 million in business investment. Blido also served in communication and project management roles for Ericsson, Inc. and Georgia Pacific and, between 2007-2011, served the CVPDC, at the time Region 2000 Partnership, in the communications and economic development role. “We are excited to have Traci coordinating the work of building a strong, robust regional network of education and training providers,” said Gary Christie. “We believe that Traci, in understanding the current and future needs of the job market, is the right individual to lead our region’s workforce development program to help meet the current and future employment needs in our business community.”
