Lynchburg, VA –Central Virginia Planning District Commission (CVPDC) has elected new officers to serve for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, effective July 01, 2024.
Reggie Bennett, Vice-Mayor of Altavista, has been elected Chairman; Drew Wade, Amherst County Board of Supervisors Chairman, Vice-Chairman; and Gary Shanaberger, Altavista Town Manager, Treasurer.
"We are excited to welcome these three gentlemen into their new roles and think they will do a great job continuing to push the mission of the CVPDC. Their combined experience and dedication will be invaluable as we address the region’s needs and opportunities," said Alec Brebner, Executive Director of CVPDC.
The CVPDC and its 23 members look forward to continuing its mission in the new fiscal year. The Commission convenes every other month, with the next meeting on September 19, at 828 Main Street, Downtown Lynchburg. The Central Virginia Planning District Commission works to provide services for member localities within the 10 Central Virginia jurisdictions, identifying and developing opportunities for coordination among the region's local governments. These opportunities include matters of regional significance and liaising with statewide and federal partners.
