The CVPDC was awarded a United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Thriving Communities Program (TCP) Technical Assistance Complete Neighborhoods Program Award this year. One of two such awards in Virginia, the initiative will advance a 12th Street Corridor Plan in Lynchburg that supports the Diamond Hill and College Hill historical neighborhoods and advances multi-modal and Transit-Oriented Development along this key community thoroughfare. The TCP program provides USDOT-funded technical assistance for three years to complete a planning project and position it for implementation. USDOT has assigned Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates and EPR PC to work with the CVPDC and project partners the City of Lynchburg and Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (GLTC) in this exciting project.
Alisha Meador and Charlotte Lester of Lynchburg City staff and CVPDC’s Kelly Hitchcock were honored to participate in the USDOT Thriving Communities Program Convening at USDOT headquarters in D.C.
