The plan is now in FEMA Grant Approved Pending Adoption (APA) status.
On January 22, 2021, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant Approved Pending Adoption (APA) status to the regional pre-hazard plan. The Central Virginia Planning District Hazard Mitigation Plan – 2020 Update (CVPDC HMP 2020) identifies hazards, area vulnerabilities and establishes goals and strategies, or potential actions, to lessen the overall impact of natural disasters to lives, property and businesses. The document will be presented to area CVPDC localities over the coming months for adoption consideration. With locality adoption, the CVPDC HMP 2020, a five-year planning document, is eligible for FEMA pre-hazard grant program funding. Access the CVPDC HMP 2020 Plan at www.cvhmp.org.
