The Draft Central Virginia Planning District Commission Hazard Mitigation Plan – 2020 Update is available for public comment. The draft regional pre-disaster plan identifies hazards, including flooding, severe weather and wildfires, area vulnerabilities, establishes goals and objectives, and presents regional and locality-specific mitigation strategies. The CVPDC Hazard Mitigation Website, www.cvhmp.org has been developed as a supplement to the regional pre-disaster plan. The site allows access to the plan, detailed vulnerability, risk, and historic data, interactive maps, review of the regional and locality identified mitigation strategies, and a location where draft comments can be provided.
