DRPT offers new service for Commonwealth commuter to provide multimodal transportation choices.
The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DPRT), in partnership with RIDE Solutions and four other commuter assistance programs across Virginia, has launched a new ride matching and commuter rewards service available to those who travel within the Commonwealth at commuteva.org.
Commute!VA free program allows users to discover multimodal transportation options – including finding rides to carpools or vanpools, transit services, park and ride locations, bike options, and more. Users earn points for tracking multimodal trips that can be redeemed for at select retailer, restaurants, and attractions.
“This innovative ride sharing website in combination with the local commuter assistance program apps will help transform commuting in the Commonwealth,” said DRPT Director Jennifer Mitchell. “Commuters can now choose the optimal transportation option in one convenient location, which will decrease traffic congestion, increase air quality, and improve mobility options for everyone.
